Challenge:

Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) is one of the world’s leading hotel companies. IHG partnered with TRICK 3D early in the launching of their new hotel brand, avid. The launch requires designing an entire hotel from scratch -- an expensive and time-consuming process. However, making design changes once construction begins is even more costly. TRICK 3D partnered with the avid brand team with the challenge of expediting the process of taking a new hotel franchise to-market more quickly.

Solution:

TRICK 3D worked alongside the avid brand team and design firm to test brand logos, colors and spatial design concepts in virtual reality (VR). Iterative real-time design sessions in the virtual space allowed for fast visualization which, in turn, made for faster decision-making and consensus-building. As the rooms and the public spaces of the hotel design commenced in an iterative fashion, the avid Hotels brand team was able to get the hotel brand built and socialized using the TRICK 3D-created visualizations via web, tablet and also in VR.

 

 

Result:

Utilizing TRICK 3D's Virtual Design approach allowed avid stakeholders to “see and believe” throughout the process and, as a result, the brand was able to launch 40% faster; it was the fastest to-market launch in the hotel company’s history. Avid images and Virtual Tours continue to be used in pre-sales, conferences, press, and more.
