Studio, state readies for influx of virtual reality and augmented reality content demand from Fortune 1000 companies, entertainment leaders
SAN FRANCISCO (Nov. 1, 2016) – TRICK 3D, an immersive content studio specializing in virtual reality (VR) and 3D animation, today announced the launch of Georgia VR, the state’s first brain trust on virtual reality. The studio announced the news from the Virtual Reality Strategy (VRS) Conference in San Francisco, where VR analyst firm Greenlight Insights this afternoon released data indicating that VR revenues alone are expected to hit $36 billion by 2026. Incorporating AR takes that projection to more than $162 billion by 2020, according to International Data Corporation (IDC).
With the support of Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC), The City of Atlanta, and area colleges and universities as well as Georgia-based Fortune 1000 companies, Georgia VR convenes representatives working in AR and VR to strategize around the promotion of the state’s capabilities in these new mediums. Kicking off the group’s efforts, TRICK 3D and MAC partnered with Greenlight Insights on the analyst firm’s inaugural Virtual Reality Strategy conference.

Chad Eikhoff, TRICK 3D founder and Georgia VR originator, took the VRS stage yesterday alongside Jessica Richman of the Australian Trade Commission, Xavier Wartelle of French Tech Hub and Greenlight Insights CEO Clifton Dawson and dialoged on how cities across the globe might accelerate their VR ecosystems.
